Cat5, cat5e and cat 6 cable, what is the differenceof them? what applications I use may change any of the above decision of a cable?
Cat 5 cable does not exist any more, it has been replaced by Cat 5e. However, there is a new Cat 6 cable to support 10GBASE-T (twisted pair of 10GB in the transmission fiber than in much cheaper).
There is also a Cat 7/class F cable has been since 2002 as a standard cable. What kind of cable to choose depends entirely on your specific needs, however, no one believes that Cat 5e is a long-term solution. You are the biggest problem for the wiring of these cables to be installed on the walls of the use of 10 to 15 years, or to support the 3rd generation to 4 generations of electronic products.
Therefore, the biggest problem is that how long you can live in your building . The cost of each level is different, if these lines must be replaced, the labor cost is very expensive. If you are planning to increase your network to 10G features in the wiring time(some companies even use the wiring 10 to 15 years),you need a 10G solution.
The copper's prices continue to rise,it is a very importment thing that should be pointed out. Therefore, in addition to worry about high labor costs and replacement of the lower performance solutions, if copper,s prices continue to rise , the cost of replacement of components may be higher.
